Glasgow / London trio Dama Scout exploded onto the scene in 2016 with their frenetic yet delightfully considered debut single, Forget It’s Good, a snarlingly ambitious first offering drawing from a plethora of varied influences.
Their second outing, the equally as energetic All In Too, is another twisted behemoth of a track – as much Sleater Kinney as it is Slint at points, whilst managing to find some solid hooks amongst all the raucousness. Having recorded elements of the track on a broken laptop microphone, the coarse nature to the production is at times a stark contrast to the almost dream-pop smooth vocals, resulting in an exhilaratingly unique sound. – Crack in the Road
Previewing new single “Paper Boy” in March, DIY Magazine said:
A fascinating new band with an overflowing box of tricks. New single ‘Paper Boy’ begins with a lot less gusto than ‘All In Too’, trading immediate sugary melodies for a winding, reverb-drenched beginning that winds its way into a swirling chorus-of-sorts. It’s almost a surprise, then, when things open up into a hip-shaking release of tension and chaotic finale. Few bands could make such polarising elements feel so cohesive, but Dama Scout continue to surprise and enthral.
