Sarah’s work explores the gestural interplay between inanimate objects, given life through the use of technological mechanisms. For Hidden door, she is creating a machine that breathes onto glass, fogging it in small spheres, much like a child misting up a window and drawing, with a finger, a picture on its squeaky canvas. On the glass a series of sad faces drawn in oil by a 6 year old, will be revealed by the blast of steam emitted from copper pipes. The faces, represent the ghostly images of child refugees ignored by our government and our own increasingly selfish society.
