The Mash Collective is a new project from SURGE (previously Conflux) which provides opportunities for emerging performers and directors to create new site-responsive work in an intensive devising process supported by established artists. The Mash Collective create site-specific bespoke performances inspired by unusual or underused environments.

With the old Leith Theatre as their stimulus, an ensemble of emerging physical theatre performers will create a unique spectacle that pops up in different areas of Hidden Door Festival. We invite you to take another look and see what’s around you from a different perspective.

SURGE runs projects to develop street arts, physical theatre and circus in Scotland. We work with artists, performance companies and educators at all levels of experience. We also run SURGE Festival, our annual event taking place each July, which brings new Scottish work and cutting edge international performances to the streets, theatres and unusual spaces of Glasgow.
